Side Channel Blowers for industrial applications
Side channel blowers, also known as vacuum pumps or vacuum compressors, can generate significantly higher pressures than industrial fans. However, a side channel blower generates lower air flow than, for example, centrifugal fans.
The operating principle of vacuum pumps has its own technology: the air gets sucked in through a fast rotary vane impeller. After this, the air in the side channel blower gets pushed and compressed outwards by the centrifugal force. It flows through the side channel back into the inner part of the vacuum blower and gets compressed again between two further blades. The second compression enables the pumps to generate significantly higher differential pressures. Elektror side channel blowers can generate turbo differential pressures up to 750 mbar (75,000 Pa) and airflows up to 1,150 m³/h. Each type of Elektror vacuum blower works completely oil-free. There are different types of side channel blowers: single stage (SD) and double stage (2SD) types as well as side channel blowers, which can only be run with a frequency converter (SD-FU/FUK). Generally, all Elektror pumps can be set and regulated with a frequency converter for energy-efficient use. Gas can also be conveyed with our side channel blowers.
Single Stage Side Channel Blower
Single stage vacuum pumps compress the air up to 410 mbar with an impeller. The SD series has a technical design based on this principle. The air gets drawn in and blown out through firmly installed exhaust silencers. We offer a standard version with a flange-mounted motor and vacuum pumps versions without a motor for external drives. The side channel blowers in the SD-FU/FUK series are made for higher speeds (up to 80 Hz) and are regulated with frequency converters. The advantage of frequency converters is that one pump or side channel blower can cover various power ranges very efficiently - this means without mechanical throttling.
A special feature of these types is the double-inlet side channel blower. There are two parallel connected impellers in this version, which work in single stage mode. They can generate higher air flows. We offer double-inlet side channel blowers on request.
Double Stage Side Channel Blower
The 2SD series is made up of double stage side channel blowers. They have two impellers with vanes that are connected in series. This design enables even higher compressions up to 750 mbar. The double stage Elektror side channel blowers also contain two firmly installed exhaust silencers. However the air intake is axial; extraction takes place through a radial mounted silencer.
Side Channel Blowers are made of aluminum casting
All Elektror pumps have a housing made of aluminum casting. The solid and robust die-cast chassis gives the vacuum compressors high stability and excellent corrosion resistance.
Explosion protected ATEX Side Channel Blowers
There is no explosion proof fan for side channel blowers. Side channel blowers are not made for explosive or flammable atmospheres.
