Little Scientists visit Elektror

Preschoolers of the day care center „Am Baumhain“ visited Elektror airsystems within the initiative “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists’ House”).

Ostfildern – Within the biggest initiative of preschool education on a national level “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists’ House”), ten preschoolers of the day care center “Am Baumhain” from the district Scharnhauser Park visited the Head Office of Elektror airsystems. The aim was to get to know the world of air technology.

Stefan Dieterich, product manager at Elektror airsystems, opened the “Researcher Day” by sitting in a circle with the children. He introduced the topic ‘air technology’ to the little scientists by using many examples. From the use of a hair dryer to an industrial fan, the topic ‘air’ was dealt with in a playful manner. Wearing protective glasses, the group could thereupon witness very closely how powerful air can be, by having a test run of the fan. Afterwards, every child got to assemble its own fan. Around midday, the activity ended with a tour on the roof of the company building. From there, you can overlook the whole district Scharnhauser Park, where the Elektror headquarters are located.

The reason for the visit at Elektror is the education initiative “Haus der kleinen Forscher” (“Little Scientists House”). The day care center “Am Baumhain” is already certified and decided on the subject “fire, earth, air and water” this year. “To explore the topic ‘air’ more deeply, we immediately thought of Elektror and thank them for this great and informative morning”, communicated Mrs. Götz, head of the day care center.

The foundation „Haus der kleinen Forscher“ („Little Scientists‘ House“) and the educational initiative of the same name support educational specialists within Germany to encourage the inquiring mind of girls and boys of day care and primary school age and to sustainably get them enthusiastic about natural science phenomena as well as technological and mathematical issues.

It thereby makes an important contribution to the promotion of educational opportunities, the qualification of early educational staff and the securing of the next generation of well-trained specialists in the MINT (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) fields.
